ABYSS® 12V 120Ah Dual Purpose Lithium Marine Battery

This dual-purpose battery combines starting capability for compatible 12V marine engines with deep-cycle capacity for electronics and house loads. Its Group 24 format suits installations that need substantial onboard energy in a compact battery compartment.

Size the system around both engine-starting requirements and the combined demand of fish finders, navigation, pumps, lighting and other equipment, while retaining the reserve needed to restart.

Match the exact engine model's battery requirements to this battery's published starting capability and charging compatibility. Horsepower alone does not establish suitability, and a short pulse-current figure should not be treated as interchangeable with every engine manufacturer's CCA or MCA requirement.

Your dealer should document compatibility for the engine, charging system and battery-switch arrangement before replacing the existing starting battery.

Amp-hours describe stored charge, rather than a guaranteed number of operating hours. For an initial estimate, divide 120Ah by the average current drawn from the battery, then reduce the result for your chosen starting reserve and actual operating conditions.

Compared with a smaller 12V bank, the extra capacity can support longer electronics use. It does not increase the current rating of your wiring or connected equipment.

The battery uses a Group 24 format. Compare the published case dimensions with the actual compartment, tray and hold-down, allowing room for terminal protection, cable bends and service access.

Secure the battery to a sound mounting surface with a suitable marine tray and restraint. Treat the tray, hold-down and any new cables as installation items to confirm when ordering; group size alone does not verify the complete fit.

Use a compatible 12V LiFePO4 charger with the correct lithium profile and current setting for this model. The battery is designed for compatible engine charging, but an existing alternator, regulator, isolator or charger still needs to match the installation.

During commissioning, verify charge voltage and current at the battery. Do not assume an AGM setting or an existing battery-combiner arrangement is suitable simply because both batteries are described as 12V.

The Bluetooth version connects to the compatible ABYSS battery app on a nearby supported phone. Use it to review available charge status, voltage, current and diagnostic information before departure and while managing onboard loads.

Bluetooth is the monitoring connection specified for this model. If battery data on your helm display is a requirement, select a system with the appropriate NMEA 2000 integration rather than assuming Bluetooth supplies that connection.

The reserve feature is intended to make retained energy available for an emergency starting attempt after normal operation has reached the reserve condition. Learn the procedure for your battery revision during the installation handover.

It is a backup feature, rather than a reason to plan around an empty battery. Reduce nonessential loads, recharge promptly and investigate repeated reserve activation or starting difficulty.

This model supports approved series and parallel configurations within its published limits. Parallel connections increase capacity at the same system voltage; series connections raise voltage and require equipment designed for that voltage.

Use matching batteries with the required charge balance, wiring and protection. A dealer should design the complete bank and charging arrangement; do not mix this battery into an existing AGM bank or assume that every series-parallel combination is approved.

Review the BMS protections, internal heating function, normal app readings and the correct response to a warning or shutdown. The heater supports cold-weather charging within the specified operating conditions; it does not remove temperature limits.

Confirm cable protection, secure mounting and charging operation. Keep connections clean and secure, inspect for damage and follow the current storage instructions. IP67 sealing does not make a flooded or damaged installation acceptable.
